MOMO OR THE STRANGE STORY OF TIME CROOKS AND THE GIRL WHO RETURNED TIME TO MEN.

"Momo" tells the story of an orphan girl who has the amazing ability to listen. Momo arrives in a city where everyone takes care of her and lives in peace until a strange gray man begins to buy the time of the people. This man belongs to an association of gray men who take away the free time with the promise to maximize it.  People have less and less free time. Momo is the only one that doesn’t fall into the trap and with the help of Cassiopeia, a turtle with the ability to take precedence over time, the Teacher time, the timekeeper and hourly flowers, try to return time to people.
Momo is more than a children's book. It makes the reader think about the value we give to things, things that sometimes we don't notice, as time and friends. It also makes us feel the busy modern world and in a very friendly manner, it makes a critique of capitalism and the way of life that this implies.
It has very complex and endearing characters, some very realistic and others deeply fantastic, which invite who reads to think beyond rationality. Cassiopeia is one of those characters; a kind and sensible turtle who puts half hour to the facts and who's a faithful companion that will help Momo regain time for people.
The book creates mental images that help children cultivate their imagination and adults to realize actions that are common in today's daily life.
Momo is recommended for anyone who wants to be sensitized with the simplicity and magic of this wonderful story book. A ten out of ten, definitely.
